Lisa Brookman, MSW, PSW, t.s.
For over 20 years, Lisa Brookman has devoted her career to helping people find their strength, heal from life’s challenges, and reconnect with their sense of purpose and inner peace. As a psychotherapist and Co-Director of the West Island Therapy and Wellness Centre, Lisa works with individuals, couples, and groups across Canada—both in person and virtually—offering a safe, supportive space for them to explore their emotions, build resilience, and grow.
Lisa’s compassionate approach guides her clients through life’s many challenges, whether they’re navigating anxiety, depression, infertility, postpartum struggles, parenting challenges, marital conflicts, grief, or major life transitions. She is especially passionate about helping people nurture self-compassion and self-worth, empowering them to listen to their inner voice, trust their intuition, and embrace themselves fully.
Through her Unfiltered by Design initiative, Lisa creates nurturing and uplifting experiences that include wellness workshops and retreats. These gatherings are designed to help participants cultivate self-love, find balance, and connect deeply with themselves and others. With her certification as a Menopause Mental Health Provider, Lisa also offers specialized support for women navigating the emotional and physical changes of midlife.
Beyond her clinical work, Lisa is a trusted voice in mental health advocacy. She has shared her expertise as a regular contributor to Breakfast Television, Global News, Beat 92.5, and CJAD 800 Talk Radio. Her heartfelt columns in Best Health Magazine and her acclaimed radio show, Wise Women, have touched countless lives by breaking down stigma and offering real, relatable advice.
Lisa also co-founded Wise Women Canada, an inspiring online platform launched in 2015 to share stories and raise awareness about the mental health issues that impact Canadian women. Through her clinic, she leads community initiatives and fundraisers, including campaigns for Bell Let’s Talk, reflecting her deep commitment to building a kinder, more supportive world for everyone.
At home, Lisa finds her greatest joy in her family. She’s a proud wife, mother to three incredible young adults, and dog mom to her trio of furry companions. In her free time, she channels her creative energy into home design—she calls herself a “home décor guru” and has an admitted obsession with throw pillows!
Lisa’s warmth, authenticity, and unwavering belief in the power of self-love shine through everything she does. She is dedicated to helping her clients and her community remember this simple truth: You are worth it.
