Lisa Brookman, a seasoned psychotherapist and Co-Director of the West Island Therapy and Wellness Centre, has dedicated over 20 years to promoting mental health and personal growth. Alongside her role in our private Canadian clinic, she extends her services virtually, reaching individuals eager to foster a stronger connection with their inner self and live more purposeful, serene lives.
Lisa’s clinical expertise spans a wide range of areas. She offers support to individuals, couples, and groups grappling with various challenges, including anxiety, depression, infertility, postpartum depression, parenting issues, marital conflicts, self-esteem and confidence building, self-compassion, self-worth, bereavement, and life transitions.
With a profound belief in the power of self-love, Lisa strives to help her clients recognize and honor their inner voices, cultivate their intuition, and love themselves unconditionally. Lisa is also the mind behind the #ILOVEME initiative, where she leads wellness workshops and retreats, delving into self-compassion, mind-body connection, work-life balance, and personal growth. Further, Lisa has proudly completed the Menopause Mental Health Provider Certification (MMHPC) Training Program.
Lisa’s contributions to mental health advocacy go beyond her clinical practice. A familiar face in Canadian media, she has regularly appeared on Breakfast Television and Global News and contributes her expertise to Beat 92.5 and CJAD 800 Talk Radio. Lisa also shares her insights through a mental health column in Best Health Magazine, and her former radio show, Wise Women on Montreal’s CJAD 800 Talk Radio, received high acclaim.
Lisa’s passion for mental wellness extends to her blog and her co-founding of Wise Women Canada. This inspirational platform, launched in 2015, shares stories to raise awareness of issues impacting Canadian women, with a special emphasis on mental wellness advocacy. In addition, Lisa leads several community organizations and fundraisers through the West Island Therapy and Wellness Centre and has played a pivotal role in campaigns for Bell Let’s Talk.
On a personal note, Lisa cherishes her role as a loving wife and mother to three wonderful teenagers and is also a proud dog mom of two. She relishes interior design – referring to herself as a “home décor guru” – and has a keen interest in culinary arts, with aspirations of becoming a Master Chef contestant. This eclectic mix of roles and interests perfectly exemplifies Lisa’s belief in living a balanced, enriched life.
